2013 Hiroshima Kokutaiji Sr. High Ambassador visit to Moanalua

The World Language Learning Center would like to thank Hiroshima Kokutaiji Sr. High School for sending such wonderful ambassadors to Moanalua High School. We hope Hayate, Yume and Rina all enjoyed their time with us. We look forward to further communication with them through e-mail or skype. Everyone cannot wait for your visit in October!

We would also like to thank our host families for their wonderful hospitality and generosity. We could not have hosted the students without you! You made my job so easy! I didn't have to worry about the students outside of school. I hope more families will follow your excellent example and volunteer to help us in the future.

To Hayate, Yume and Rina:  I enjoyed your company every day. It will be lonely without you! Thank you for keeping up with the blog. I hope you can find a way to post to the blog from Kokutaiji Sr. High School. Please keep in touch so you can help me plan the activities for your October visit. I miss you already. Take care and keep up with your studies. If you need anything, please contact me right away.

It was drizzling this morning. I was very sad because today is my last day staying in Hawaii. I thought the sky seemed sad together.

When we were watching a school program called mene mac in the classroom, three of us were introduced to Moanalua high school. I was very happy!! I love Moanalua high school♡

Today's after school , we'll go to lunch. I want to have a nice time.

今朝、小雨が降っていました。今日がハワイに滞在する最後の日なので、とても悲しかったです。空も一緒に悲しんでいるように思えました(笑)

教室でメネマックという学校番組を見ていた時、私たち３人が紹介されました。とっても嬉しかったです!! 私はモアナルアのみんなが、大好きです(*＾o＾*)♡

今日の放課後は、みんなでランチにいくつもりです。楽しい時間を過ごしたいです。

Today is my last day coming to this school.
I though staying here three weeks are long,but now I notice it was just a split of time.
Maybe I'll stay here another three weeks.

今日がいよいよ学校に来る最後の日となりました。
三週間滞在するなんて長いなーと思っていましたが、一瞬でした。
もう三週間残ろうかな（笑）

モアナルア高校のみなさん、ありがとうございました。 

Friday, I ice-skated. I was surprised because I've never thought that I do that in Hawaii. I could do that well. 

金曜日にアイススケートをしました。ハワイでアイススケートをするなんて考えてもいなかったので、びっくりしました。私は、うまくすべることができました。

Sunday, I went on a hike to Diamond Head. It was the ideal weather for hiking, so it was agreeable to walk.

日曜日にダイアモンドヘッドへハイキングにいきました。ハイキングには絶好の天気だったから、歩くのはとても気持ちよかったです。

Monday, I went to the zoo. I saw many kinds of animals. It was fun.

月曜日、動物園に行きました。いろんな動物を見ました。楽しかったです。

I had a great weekend thanks to my host family.

ホストファミリーのおかげで、とても楽しい週末を過ごすことができました。

Saturday, I went to climb Diamond head.
It wasn't so high that I though it was.
The view from the top was beautiful.

Sunday, It was my first time to go to church.
People were singing and having fun there.
It was surprising for me because I have imagined church is strict.

Monday was Martin Luther King Jr day so we had no school.
I went to Pearl harbor.
Visiting this place realized me learning about history in a different way is important.

土曜日ダイヤモンドヘッドに登りました。
思っていたよりそこまで高くありませんでした。
頂上からの景色は美しかったです。

日曜日初めて教会に行きました。
人々は歌ったりして楽しんでいました。
僕は教会とはとても厳格な場所だと想像していたので、驚きました。

月曜日はマーティン・ルーサ・キング　デイ（キング牧師の誕生日）という祝日でした。
僕は真珠湾に行ってきました。
歴史を別の角度でみることが大切であることをこの場所は僕に教えてくれました。

I ate miso soup yesterday.
It was little different from Japanese taste.
I miss Japanese food!

昨日みそ汁を飲みました。
少し日本の味と違いました。
日本食が恋しい！

I went to the park yesterday.
I heard that people are sometimes playing baseball there.

Most of the park in Japan, grounds are not a turf.
So I'm very jealous about it.

昨日は公園に行きました。
そこでは時々野球の試合が行われていることを聞きました。

日本の公園の多くは、芝生ではありません。
とても羨ましいです。

I went to the Cold Stone with Allison. I ate an ice cream sundae. It was very good!

アリソンとコールドストーンに行きました。アイスを食べました。美味しかったです！

Finally,the sky cleared up yesterday.
This is Hawaii!
But winds are blowing hard so it's kind of chilly... I think.
I wonder, how I gonna feel when I go back to Japan.

やっと天気がよくなりました。
これが想像していたハワイです。
でも、風が強く吹いているので少し肌寒いかな…
日本に帰ったら、どうなることやら。

I went to a supermarket  nearby with Allison's mother. I surprised to see that it is very big! But she said“It is too small. ”Today, I'll go to a bigger one. I'm looking forward to going there.


昨日、近所のスーパーにアリソンのお母さんと一緒に行きました。私はスーパーの大きさにびっくりしました!でも、アリソンのお母さんは「ここは小さすぎるわ！！」と言っていました。今日は、もっと大きいスーパーに行きます。どんなのかとても楽しみです:D

I told my host about Hiroshima. I showed my school to them as I used google map. They are interested in foreign country, so they enjoyed my talk about Hiroshima. And then, they told me about Hawaii. I found many differences between Hawaii and Hiroshima. Thanks to my host, I could learn many things about Hawaii.

私は、ホストファミリーに広島について話しました。google mapを使いながら私の学校を見せました。ホストファミリーは、海外のいろんな国々に興味を持っているので私の広島についての話を楽しんでくれました。それから、ホストファミリーは、ハワイについて話してくれました。私は、ハワイと広島の違いをたくさん見つけました。ホストファミリーのおかげで、ハワイについて多くのことを知ることができました。

After school, three of us and our host went to Pearlridge shopping center.

We stayed there for about three hours.

I bought some clothes for my mother and sister.

放課後、僕たち三人とホストでパールリッジショッピングセンターに行きました。

三時間くらい見てまわりました。

僕は母と妹にいくつか服を買いました。

I went beach last Saturday. The rain came down, but it was very beautiful !! And then, I went the movie theater with my host family and their friend.  We ate popcorn as we saw a movie. It was good.

土曜日にビーチに行きました。雨が降ってきたけど、ビーチはとてもキレイでした。それから、ホストファミリーとホストファミリーの友だちで、映画館に行きました。ポップコーンを食べながら映画を見ました。楽しかったです。

On last Sunday, I went Waikiki with my host family. I bought a T-shirt !! I bought souvenirs for my family and friends. I had a great time !!

日曜日は、ホストファミリーとワイキキに行きました。私は、Tシャツを買いました。それから、家族と友だちへのお土産を買いました。本当に楽しい時間を過ごしました。

Coming to Hawaii, it was my first time to have a day off from school.

In Saturday, I went shopping. There was a lot of Japanese people in Wikiki beach and Alamoana shopping center.

Sunday, me and Noah visited Japanese cultural center to see the festival, "hana maturi"

I had a chance to learn about Japanese immigrant and their history.

I also saw okonomiyaki! It was sold at the festival.

Remember Hiroshima…

ハワイに来てから最初の休日でした。

土曜日、僕はショッピングに連れていってもらいました。

ワイキキとアラモアナにはたくさん日本人がいました。

日曜日、僕とノアはハワイの日本文化センターであったに『花祭り』と言う名の

お祭りに行きました。

そこで、ハワイに移住してきた人や彼らの歴史について学びました。

またお好み焼きがお祭りで売られていました。（広島風）

広島を思い出す…

今週も頑張ります！

Moanalua Garden was very beautiful♪I felt happy.
I made Gingerbread House with Allison at home.It was very fun.I want to eat,,,but we can't.
Also,I practiced in articulation of R .But I couldn't at all.At that time Allison was laughing loudly.I had a good time.

モアナルアガーデンはとても綺麗でした♪気持ちよかったです。

家ではアリソンと一緒に、お菓子の家を作りました。すっごく楽しかったです。食べたいけど、、、食べれません。(笑)

また、Rの発音の仕方をアリソンと練習しました。でも、全然できませんでした。そのとき、アリソンはとても笑っていました。楽しい時間を過ごしました＾＾//

After school, we went to Moanalua Garden.
We went there to see the tree that is used in Japanese commercial.

放課後、モアナルアガーデンに行ってきました。
日本のコマーシャルで使われている木を見ました。
『この木なんの木〜』

Yesterday, we saw the Japanese class.
Gosh!Everyone's Japanese is so good.
Kokutaiji students better have to learn English harder to prepare for the visit in October.

After school , we had a party at Allison's house.
We would like to thank Allison and her family for inviting us.
It was great!

昨日は日本語の授業を見ました。
みんな日本語が上手で驚きました。
僕たちももっと修学旅行のために英語を勉強しないと。

放課後、アリソンの家でパーティがありました。
アリソンと彼女の家族の方、素晴らしいパーティに招待していただきありがとうございました。

Welcome Kokutaiji Ambassadors

The World Language Learning Center, on behalf of the Moanalua High School Ohana, would like to welcome the 3 student ambassadors from Hiroshima Kokutaiji Sr. High School for their 3 week homestay. We hope Hayate, Yume and Rina will enjoy their visit and learn a lot so they can prepare the rest of their class for their visit in October, 2013.

We would also like to thank Noah, Celine, Allison and their families for hosting our honored guests.

After their arrival, we went to make visiting student ID cards.

Kokutaiji students are coming!

Three students from Kokutaiji Sr. High School are coming in January. They will be doing homestays from January 7-24, 2013. Look for more information to come!
